Alex Goldrich

Alex Goldrich - Director

Born in Ottawa and raised in Atlantic Canada, Alex Goldrich began studying classical piano at age four and was performing in local theatre by the age of twelve. While living in Saint John, New Brunswick, Alex appeared in over a dozen theatrical productions and several short films. Since moving to Montreal in 2007, he has continued his theatre career, performing in such plays as Suddenly, Last Summer, Henry V, Titus Andronicus, Hamlet, and as the lead role in Macbeth.
Closer is his directorial debut, and he is thrilled to be working with such a talented young cast on such a powerful and affecting play. Alex is especially grateful to Karine for making this play a reality, and for trusting him to be part of it.

Emily Thorne

Emily Thorne - Sound Designer


Emily Thorne is a Montreal based Sound Designer and Technical Director. She is a recent graduate of The National Theatre School of Canada's Production Program, and is currently Technical Director of MainLine Theatre and the St-Ambroise Montréal Fringe Festival. Emily Thorne has a deep passion for Sound Design as well as an extensive background in live audio mixing. Recent Sound Design credits include Carrelage (Gala for Student Drama 2013), The Green Man (NTSC New Words Festival 2012), Disappeared (NTSC New Words Festival 2012), and La Poursuite (Université du Québec à Chicoutimi). She is a graduate of the Canterbury Dramatic Arts Program with distinction as well as the 2010 recipient of the Zonta Theatre Arts Award recognizing female theatre artists in the Ottawa region.

Micheline Chartier

Micheline Chartier - Stage Manager

 

Micheline Chartier graduated Dawson College's Professional Theatre Program in 2007. Since then, she has worked on many shows; both behind the scenes and on stage. Micheline has had the pleasure of working with and being a part of Glam Gam Productions, a local burlesque troupe, and of working with a musical theatre company, Processed Theatre. She can proudly say that she is still with each of these companies today. Micheline is happy to be working on Closer with such an amazing group of talented people. Cheers to an awesome production!

Kelly O'Toole

Kelly O'Toole - Set & Costume Designer

 

Kelly is a recent graduate of John Abbott College’s Professional Theatre Design program. Her past work includes Costumer Designer for Antigone (Kaleidoscope Theatre Ensemble), Set Designer for The Penelopiad (JAC Theatre) and Costume Designer for Sainte-Carmen of the Main (JAC Theatre). Recently, she had the pleasure of working on two Shakespeare production as set and costume designer; The Tempest (Kaleidoscope Theatre Ensemble) and Macbeth (Montreal Shakespeare Theatre Company).

 

Alex Smith

Alex Smith - Lighting Designer

 

Having recently wrapped up a year as artist in residence at Black Theatre Workshop, Alex is a Montreal-based lighting designer and stage manager.  Select credits include: As assistant stage manager, Robin Hood (Geordie Productions), Richard III (Metachroma Theatre) and Elizabeth Rex (Table d’Hote Theatre); as lighting designer, Hamlet (Persephone Productions), A Promise to the Sun (Black Theatre Workshop), and the English-language premiere of the complete Ludwig & Mae cycle (Title66 Productions). He is presently the resident lighting designer of St. George’s School, and the resident technician of the Turtle Island Theatre Company, in Kahnawake.
